Magia Di Winx

Back.

So you guys can shoot me for leaving you alone like this for so long, but let me just clear everything up.

I’m back. And doing great.

A Season 5 picture and outfit for Roxy?

I doubt it.

Una Di Noi’s OP got this before I did, and she found this image on deviantART. The person who posted this image on the site claims it’s official stock art, but I don’t think so.

As a comment on the post rightfully pointed out, someone at Rainbow would be breaking a very strict rule by releasing this art for purposes other than promotion before the start of the season, and since Season 5 art for Roxythe season is set to debut in 2012, it’s highly unlikely Rainbow would be engaging in active promotion now. Most companies like to do it a short while before the actual series launches, and the case is probably the same for Rainbow.

Also, you may notice that the model for this drawing is different from the model of what Rainbow actually chooses for it’s fairies. They have a set model from them all. If you want, just compare the final Believix transformation poses for Bloom and Tecna. They’re the same with a reversal of direction.

Since this model of Roxy is plumper and fuller, I don’t think this is official stock art. Also, the fingers are oddly shaped, and the highlights at the end of her hair are gone. Unless, of course, Rainbow has decided to go through a random mood swing and has changed the art without notice. It’s uncommon, though. If they wanted to change their style of drawing, they’d release some of it to see what fans made of it. And we haven’t seen this style in the Season 5 promo video.

Based on all of this evidence, I’m filing this as a rumor and nothing more for now. Let’s wait for an official conformation next year.

Okay, so the OP from Una Di Noi replied to my comment and mentioned the artist claimed the outfit was official, not the model or the picture as a whole.

I’m still going to keep this filed as a rumor, until we get an official conformation. As has been the case with transformations many times before, often, we see a link to a picture that claims an official transformation or outfit in this case, and it turns out to be false.

Only time will tell. We’ve got to be patient, and unfortunately for me, that’s something I’m inherently bad at. ;)

Thoughts on Diaspro vs. Bloom

I was just re-watching the battle between Bloom and Diaspro from Revenge of the Trix of the Nickelodeon Winx Club specials, and I thought I’d post a few thoughts on it.

So, overall, I didn’t like it as much as I liked it in Italian and RAI English. Sure, the animation was smoother, faster, and way better, but it Bloom in Diaspro's ring and Diaspro's gems are destroyed by Bloom. still lacked the quality that came from the originals.

I don’t like the transformations Nick made for the girls, as in the new “Charmix” transformations. My sister and I agree that the original “Winx” transformations were and are way better than the Nick ones.

Aside from the Winx, I liked what Nick did with Diaspro’s transformation very much. It seems more elegant and graceful, and it fits Diaspro much better than what Rainbow originally did with her transformation. One thing I didn’t like was that if you listen carefully while she transforms, you can hear the Winx-transforming-into-Zoomix-from-Season-4 music playing for her transformation. I doubt it would have been hard for them to come up with a score for her transformation, after all, they did manage to come up with a…well, I didn’t like it so much, but a “Charmix” song for the Winx’s transformation.

I liked the animation in the parts where the girls attack each other very much, and the protective shield that Diaspro constructed for herself was absolutely fantastic and way better than the original version. I noticed they thickened and lengthened Bloom’s hair by quite a bit, and honestly, I don’t think the girls need longer hair. xP

As for voice acting, I did not like the random screams and shouts Molly Quinn provided while voicing Bloom fighting. Arianna Grande, however, did not sound like herself at all to me, and that’s what I call a marvelous job of voicing Diaspro. Her voice had that sort of snobbish upper-class air to it, and yet the fury of someone being forced to fight a civilian. Loved it.

The fact that they cut out the little bit of physical fighting between the girls upset me a little, because I think it’s important that they show these girls aren’t all reliant on magic and fairy powers and can actually fight, if only a little bit.

Yep, that’s about it. I’ve embedded the original and the Nick version below for you to compare. The original one is in Swedish and has only a part of the battle, unfortunately, but I think it’s still enough to compare the animations and what they left out/in. (If anyone has a link to a RAI clip, please let me know in the comments.)

We’re well over 5,000 views!

I just realized something while looking at the tiny view counter we have on our blog. It’s so tiny that I didn’t even realize it was there.

Magia Di Winx is now well over 5,000 views, and we’re due to hit 10,000 anytime soon!
And now, we jump for joy and celebrate!
This is quite a big achievement, because as I remember, Magia Di Winx used to be a very small blog with very few readers back when my sister TheEverydayMuser first started it at her whole domain. I know she’ll jump for joy when she sees it!

We’re also one year old, seeing as we passed our first birthday this December 5th and neither my sister nor I noticed. Stupid us. :P

Anyhow, thank you to all the readers and subscribers and commenters for every thing you’ve done! You’ve been patient with us all this time, borne our long absences from this blog, listened patiently (or rather, read patiently!) all of our long, winding explanations, and you’re still around!

You’re what makes up this blog! Thank you so much, you are fantastic!

From my sister (who, her being her, probably doesn’t even know yet) and me, I wish you and Magia Di Winx a happy first birthday. Actually, I don’t even know how you wish a blog a first birthday, but that’s how I did it! ;)

Also, happy 5,000-plus view count, if that counts. xD

Celebratory wallpaper coming soon! Thanks so much once again!

Change of timing for Season 3!

Instead of doing follow-up posts for all the previous news, I thought I’d just jump right in with the newest, since most of you will have been keeping up with the previous news from the numerous other Winx Club blogs.

Nickelodeon has changed the timings for season 3 of Winx Club, which will now air on weekdays at 2/1c. It’s unfortunate for me, because I’ll be at school. TiVo’s and DVR’s were invented for a reason, though. :P

The official Nickelodeon TV account tweeted it out. I can say it’s official thanks to the little blue tick at the side that confirms it has been verified and approved by Twitter.

Also, considering they’re airing the episodes on all the weekdays, they’ll finish airing the entire season extremely fast. Hopefully, we’ll see Il Segreto del Regno Perduto/The Secret of the Lost Kingdom after that and then season 4.

Thanks to my sister for the screenshot.

Season 3 timing change

Business.

I haven’t posted here in a while, and neither has my sister. She’s been lazy.

Me, however, is a tad bit of a different story. I’ve been away for two reasons.

First of all, I had my end of quarter exams, and boy, I spent all my time swatting up. I’m a college student, for those of you that don’t know. I’m getting my results soon, and I hope I did well.

Second, I’ve been away for the past four days in Paris! I’ve been here for a technology event called LeWeb, which is basically where a bunch of people in the technology industry in Europe and America meet up. This conference, in 2011, was actually my first time at LeWeb. It’s been a fascinating, informative, and enjoyable experience, and I intend to go back next year.

Anyhoo, back to the topic. TheWinxClubFanatic has decided that she’s going to catch you up on the previous news and post more as it comes. My opinionated posts will continue as soon as I get home. I have a long flight back.

I’ve changed the theme of the blog and uploaded a new header image. Also, the Transformation Comparison Series will continue soon, and the Say What contests will be back up as soon as possible. Opinions on the Nickelodeon specials by both my sister and I will soon be posted. She’s been watching season 3 of Winx Club on Nick and DVR’ing it for me, since I haven’t got the chance to. We’ll let you know what we think soon.

Thank you for bearing with us, you are awesome, period. :)

I might be a bit jetlagged when I come back home, so forgive me if the posting times are odd. ;P

Oh, dear, we’ve been lazy!

No excuses this time for my long absence from Magia Di Winx, my friends.

In short, I’ve been dreadfully lazy. As for my sister, you cannot blame her, she’s been having her term finals and is hard at work studying. It’s pretty much all she does now.

Anyhow, to the American readers of Magia Di Winx, a much belated Happy Thanksgiving!

I’ll be doing a bit of a long post later to catch you up on all of the news we haven’t posted here *ashamed look*.

Thanks for still visiting Magia Di Winx! I’ll try to amend my laziness, I know full well it’s not a good habit in a blogger. =P

I’ve also noticed my sister changed the theme of this blog. She’s got quirks, it’s absolutely normal. I like it, anyway. What do you think of it?

Season 3 airs November 7th at 3/2c!

Nick’s version of the third season of Winx Club will be airing November 7th at 3/2c!

That is, of course, if Nick’s mood swings vanish and they don’t keep changing the time again. But if they do, we’ll keep you posted. :)

Are you ready?

The Winx are coming this November

Magia Di Winx is interviewing Romi Dames!

Romi DamesThe title says it all, but I’ve got more to tell you.

Magia Di Winx will be interviewing Romi Dames online soon. Romi Dames is the voice of Musa for the Nickelodeon dub of the series.

TheEverydayMuser and I have already made a set list of questions we’d like to ask her.

However, we know that we’re not the only fans of Winx Club in this whole wide world…so here’s your opportunity to ask Ms. Dames some questions!

Simply leave your queries in the comments below. You can also send them to us at magiadiwinx@gmail.com, tweet them to us at @MagiaDiWinx on Twitter, or leave them on our Facebook page here. If tweeting them to us, use the format @MagiaDiWinx <questionhere> #askRomi please. It makes it easier for us to browse through the questions.

Random questions will be picked, and we’ll post the entire interview here when we’re done.

So start asking some questions!

PS – We don’t have a set number of questions or a time period for the questions we’ll take from you guys yet, so ask as many as you want. We’ll inform you when your time’s up.
