Say What?

Yep, everybody, “Say What?” is ba-ack! In this not-so-weekly-anymore competition, you comment with a funny caption for a picture we post.

I’ve kind of lost count of the contest posts. :P So we’ll just leave this as unnumbered and then resume the count next time. :D

The Winx Club Timeline

An interesting question was posted over at Una Di Noi – has Nick de-aged the Winx to teenagers again? They certainly seem to be acting like teens!

This got me thinking about something that’s been more than a bit fuzzy as of late in the Winx Club series – the timeline. In most TV shows (happens less in live-action ones) viewers aren’t given a good idea of how much time each season lasts. We’re left to make our own guesses based on information we glean in-show. Glimpse The Elusive Luna!

There’s a preview of Season 5, Episode 15 out. Guess who we catch a glimpse of?

If you guessed ‘Luna’, then you’re probably right. That’s Stella’s elusive mom, right next to her!

Those who’ve been following the original Italian or Cinelume versions will know that technically, in continuity, Stella is the fairy of the sun and the moon. Her parents are actually separated. Her mother is mentioned a couple of times in the series, and we catch a glimpse of her in Stella’s nightmare in Season 1 Episode 7, but she’s never been featured as a character in the show.

That is, until now. I doubt this is going to be anything more than a minor appearance, maybe for just this episode and the next? The most I’m hoping for is some display of moon-based magic from Stella’s mother (I mean, that would be so cool). Well, at least we get to see her in an episode, at last.

By the way, remember how Nick retconned “Fairy of the Sun and the Moon” to “Fairy of the Shining Sun”? Wonder how they’ll deal with that. :P

You can watch the episode preview below. Credits to BelieveInWinx for the upload.

PS = Does anyone other than me love Luna’s eyes? :3

Where’s the fight?

[Note: This is a bit of a long rant, and I've included lots of videos and everything, hence the read more link.]

The Nickelodeon version of Winx Club has been hyped up a lot (this is something to do with the fact that it’s back in America, on cable TV, and it’s not 4kids), but I don’t honestly think it deserves that hype. Neither do I think it deserves the overzealous praise it’s received from some fans, and nor do I think previous versions of Winx Club, like the Cinelume version deserve the hate some Nick fans are giving them. 2D Sirenix *SPOILERS*

The 2D version of Sirenix is up on YouTube.

According to the OP over at Una Di Noi, Viacom already put Episode 14 on sale. I checked, and yep, it’s up.

As the OP says so rightfully, please don’t use the release of the Sirenix transformation as an excuse to skip the episode, which airs on Sunday, 1/12c. Ratings for Winx Club have been low, and it would be wonderful if the huge fanbase in America could support the show by tuning in for the 12th episode!

We’re now on YouTube!

Magia Di Winx is now on YouTube! /cheers

Our YouTube channel is currently empty (boo) but we’ll be posting episode snapshots in Rai English, and hopefully Italian, so that newcomers to Winx, watchers of the Nickelodeon version, watchers of the  4kids version, you, and all other Winx fans, can live the magic with us!

Oh, also, our email is active again. Apologies to all of you who may have got late replies, some pending from last year. My sister and I are extremely ashamed of that (my sister more so, because she claims she forgot she even wrote on a blog), but we’re back and better than ever!

And…we’re working on a general-purpose Winx discussion forum! We hope you’ll all join.

One more thing. I gave you guys a bit of a tease in the last post about a big, upcoming project. You’re all biting your nails and sitting on the edge of your seats, aren’t you? /probably not

Magia Di Winx…what are you up to?

Again, this project that my sister and I are thinking up is going to require a lot – I repeat, a lot – of Winx fanbase participation. We really, really hope you’re going to take part, because Magia Di Winx would really like this project to be a success.

Bit more of a tease – we’re hoping to complete it by early April and have it out by mid-April (yes yes, what a tease).

A’right, that’s all! Stay tuned for more news on our YouTube channel, forum, and big-top-secret-totally-fabulous-yeah-right project! And if you email us now, you’ll get a reply ASAP!

Have a good day. :)

In the spirit of the original Italian version of Season 3 of Winx Club (which you will probably no longer find anywhere on the Internet thanks to Viacom’s illegal pulling down of content), here’s the Italian Enchantix song.

Yes. I’m back. I’ve been awfully busy with college lately (I’m graduating soon, and I’m doing a pretty hard couple of courses), but now I’ll be free for a while. So I’m back to blogging. :)

Also, I’ve got a little something brewing, which you wonderful Winx Club fans can take part in. In fact, you’ll probably have to take part in it for it to work out. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun, and I hope to see a lot of feedback and engagement, so stay tuned!
