Season 7 U.K. Premiere Date!

June 9, 2015 at 3:43 am | Posted in Airings and Dubs, Nickelodeon | Leave a comment

In our second bit of news for today, it appears that season 7 will be premiering in the U.K. in around a month! Are you excited?

NickOnAir (a blog dedicated to Nickelodeon news) reports that Winx Club Season 7 will premiere in the U.K. on the 4th of July and air every Saturday. The episodes will be repeated on Sunday at 7AM and 7:30AM (twice in one row, which is weird, but not surprising since every Winx Club episode lasts around 25 minutes).

A little confusing, but the schedule provided by that website appears to state that the first two episodes will air on the same day; that’s July 4th.

I’ll update this post as soon as I have any additional information to clarify the air dates. Remember to fly to your TV sets in July, U.K. Winx fans! 😀

Glimpse The Elusive Luna!

February 13, 2013 at 9:45 am | Posted in Airings and Dubs, Characters, Luna, Nickelodeon, Seasons and Movies | 4 Comments

There’s a preview of Season 5, Episode 15 out. Guess who we catch a glimpse of?

If you guessed ‘Luna’, then you’re probably right. That’s Stella’s elusive mom, right next to her!

Those who’ve been following the original Italian or Cinelume versions will know that technically, in continuity, Stella is the fairy of the sun and the moon. Her parents are actually separated. Her mother is mentioned a couple of times in the series, and we catch a glimpse of her in Stella’s nightmare in Season 1 Episode 7, but she’s never been featured as a character in the show.

That is, until now. I doubt this is going to be anything more than a minor appearance, maybe for just this episode and the next? The most I’m hoping for is some display of moon-based magic from Stella’s mother (I mean, that would be so cool). Well, at least we get to see her in an episode, at last.

By the way, remember how Nick retconned “Fairy of the Sun and the Moon” to “Fairy of the Shining Sun”? Wonder how they’ll deal with that. 😛

You can watch the episode preview below. Credits to BelieveInWinx for the upload.

PS = Does anyone other than me love Luna’s eyes? :3

Where’s the fight?

[Note: This is a bit of a long rant, and I’ve included lots of videos and everything, hence the read more link.]

The Nickelodeon version of Winx Club has been hyped up a lot (this is something to do with the fact that it’s back in America, on cable TV, and it’s not 4kids), but I don’t honestly think it deserves that hype. Neither do I think it deserves the overzealous praise it’s received from some fans, and nor do I think previous versions of Winx Club, like the Cinelume version deserve the hate some Nick fans are giving them. 2D Sirenix *SPOILERS*

February 11, 2013 at 8:40 pm | Posted in Airings and Dubs, Nickelodeon, Powers and Spells, Season 5, Seasons and Movies, Sirenix | Leave a comment

The 2D version of Sirenix is up on YouTube.

According to the OP over at Una Di Noi, Viacom already put Episode 14 on sale. I checked, and yep, it’s up.

As the OP says so rightfully, please don’t use the release of the Sirenix transformation as an excuse to skip the episode, which airs on Sunday, 1/12c. Ratings for Winx Club have been low, and it would be wonderful if the huge fanbase in America could support the show by tuning in for the 12th episode!

Beyond Believix!

Would you look at that. Season 5 has a tagline – and it’s beyond Believix!

This confirms that the tradition of a new transformation every season is definitely continuing, but I’m hoping that we won’t have a season 5 transformation add on. I’m sure you all remember Sophix and Lovix. *shakes head*

We now know that the Season 5 villain (Tritannus) happens to be Aisha’s cousin. And the plot thickens.

We’re eagerly waiting for season 5 here at Magia Di Winx! The magic returns…soon! 🙂

The Winx are back!

Sorry for the vanishing act, everyone. I thought my sister would keep up with updating the blog, but oh well, she’s my sister, after all. xD

Anyway, “We are Believix” by Liz Gillies is out, and I’ve gotta say, it’s fantastic! 😀 It’s upbeat, with a great video.

Thanks to our trusty BelieveInWinx for the upload.

You can also download the song from iTunes here.

(Oh, and all those who share their first name with Ms. Gillies, gimme a high-five! :3)

Thoughts on Diaspro vs. Bloom

I was just re-watching the battle between Bloom and Diaspro from Revenge of the Trix of the Nickelodeon Winx Club specials, and I thought I’d post a few thoughts on it.

So, overall, I didn’t like it as much as I liked it in Italian and RAI English. Sure, the animation was smoother, faster, and way better, but it Bloom in Diaspro's ring and Diaspro's gems are destroyed by Bloom. still lacked the quality that came from the originals.

I don’t like the transformations Nick made for the girls, as in the new “Charmix” transformations. My sister and I agree that the original “Winx” transformations were and are way better than the Nick ones.

Aside from the Winx, I liked what Nick did with Diaspro’s transformation very much. It seems more elegant and graceful, and it fits Diaspro much better than what Rainbow originally did with her transformation. One thing I didn’t like was that if you listen carefully while she transforms, you can hear the Winx-transforming-into-Zoomix-from-Season-4 music playing for her transformation. I doubt it would have been hard for them to come up with a score for her transformation, after all, they did manage to come up with a…well, I didn’t like it so much, but a “Charmix” song for the Winx’s transformation.

I liked the animation in the parts where the girls attack each other very much, and the protective shield that Diaspro constructed for herself was absolutely fantastic and way better than the original version. I noticed they thickened and lengthened Bloom’s hair by quite a bit, and honestly, I don’t think the girls need longer hair. xP

As for voice acting, I did not like the random screams and shouts Molly Quinn provided while voicing Bloom fighting. Arianna Grande, however, did not sound like herself at all to me, and that’s what I call a marvelous job of voicing Diaspro. Her voice had that sort of snobbish upper-class air to it, and yet the fury of someone being forced to fight a civilian. Loved it.

The fact that they cut out the little bit of physical fighting between the girls upset me a little, because I think it’s important that they show these girls aren’t all reliant on magic and fairy powers and can actually fight, if only a little bit.

Yep, that’s about it. I’ve embedded the original and the Nick version below for you to compare. The original one is in Swedish and has only a part of the battle, unfortunately, but I think it’s still enough to compare the animations and what they left out/in. (If anyone has a link to a RAI clip, please let me know in the comments.)

Change of timing for Season 3!

December 11, 2011 at 9:35 am | Posted in Airings and Dubs, Nickelodeon, Season 3, Seasons and Movies | Leave a comment

Instead of doing follow-up posts for all the previous news, I thought I’d just jump right in with the newest, since most of you will have been keeping up with the previous news from the numerous other Winx Club blogs.

Nickelodeon has changed the timings for season 3 of Winx Club, which will now air on weekdays at 2/1c. It’s unfortunate for me, because I’ll be at school. TiVo’s and DVR’s were invented for a reason, though. 😛

The official Nickelodeon TV account tweeted it out. I can say it’s official thanks to the little blue tick at the side that confirms it has been verified and approved by Twitter.

Also, considering they’re airing the episodes on all the weekdays, they’ll finish airing the entire season extremely fast. Hopefully, we’ll see Il Segreto del Regno Perduto/The Secret of the Lost Kingdom after that and then season 4.

Thanks to my sister for the screenshot.

Nickelodeon’s official Season 3 Trailer!

October 24, 2011 at 2:02 pm | Posted in Airings and Dubs, Enchantix, Nickelodeon, Powers and Spells, Season 3, Seasons and Movies | Leave a comment

Again, this news might be a bit late for those who have already seen it, but here’s the official Nickelodeon trailer for the third season of Winx Club.

Season 3 will be airing in full, which means that all original 26 episodes will be redubbed and broadcast on Nickelodeon. There will be a few minor changes to account for the plot of the specials, but the overall storyline will remain the same.

As for me, Enchantix is my favorite transformation, so I’m very, very happy they haven’t done anything to it. I almost feel protective of it. =P

What do you think of the trailer? I’m quite excited!
